An overvoltage arrester designed for the protection of photovoltaic devices. Due to its nominal input voltage of 280 V and a maximum voltage of 350 V, it is suitable for use with solar regulators and GridFree GF-SUN inverters. Maximum operating current is 50 A (gL/gG fuses).
The overvoltage arrester includes a thermal disconnecting device - varistors with a thermal fuse, optical fault indication, and remote signaling of the arrester's status. The arrester is mounted on a DIN rail and has a modular structure - a base part and interchangeable modules. The interchangeable module allows for easy and quick replacement of a damaged part.

The DS240S-280DC overvoltage arrester is designed to protect small and medium-sized off-grid photovoltaic power plants with a maximum input of 350 V. It serves as the main system protection against voltage surges caused, for example, by lightning strikes. Installation is done on the wiring from the solar panels before the input to the regulator or inverter. It is connected in parallel with grounding for these devices.

The overvoltage protection redirects the potential of the voltage surge through the grounding terminal to the ground, thus protecting other devices in the system.
