All high-capacity lithium batteries are considered dangerous goods. Although LiFePO4 is a very safe technology that does not explode or burn internally, cells and batteries can store a significant amount of energy, and the release of this energy can cause some dangerous situations.
High-capacity cells and batteries cannot be transported as normal goods. They must be handled in a special manner as dangerous goods. Lithium cells and batteries are classified as ADR goods - for special road transport only.
When transporting any goods classified as dangerous goods (ADR), global transport regulations must be observed. Although LiFePO4 batteries are extremely durable and cannot explode, LiFePO4 technology is still classified as a CLASS 9 (Miscellaneous) dangerous good. All ADR classes are governed by transport regulations, which are the Technical Instructions IATA regulations for dangerous goods and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code IMO.
Special handling of dangerous cargo entails additional operations during transport, which is why the cost of transporting such goods is slightly higher than for regular goods.

If you pay for the goods in advance and send a driver to us, it is necessary to provide us with the name of the company or driver. This will ensure that we hand over the goods to the authorised person. If you choose this option, please ensure that the driver knows the order number.
